Through the Years
Beloved: It was the Spring (March 27, 1957 to be exact) of my first year in Seminary that I heard Dr. Oswald J. Smith. Dr. Smith was preaching in the First Annual World Missions Conference at the Carrollton Presbyterian Church in New Orleans. In our class on World Missions at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, we were told we needed to hear this man. Dr. Smith was Pastor of the Peoples Church of Toronto, Canada and one of the greatest Missionary Statesmen of the 20th Century. His church personally supported 350 Missionaries. He was known for his use of Missionary Mottos and the Faith Promise Giving Plan for World Missions. In fact, he used as the title of his Message, the night I heard him preach, his most famous Missionary Motto... "Why should anyone hear the gospel twice before everyone has heard it once?" I stated all the above to say that, THROUGH THE YEARS there were Mottos that have BLESSED my Life and Ministry. Here are just a few:
Please know we LOVE you in our blessed Lord Jesus! |
