Two Divine Imperatives

Volume 42

January 2019

Number 1

Beloved:

A word from GOD’S WORD is greatly needed to launch us into the New Year. Such a word is found in I Peter 5:8 (KJV): “Be SOBER, be VIGILANT; because YOUR ADVERSARY the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” What fitting words to propel us into 2019. Here the Blessed Holy Spirit speaks to us through the writings of the Apostle Peter two divine imperatives:

(1) BE SOBER--Meaning Self Controlled, Serious, Clarity of mind, Moral decisiveness, Correctly in charge of ones priorities and in no way INTOXICATED with the allurements of the world, Always mindful that the various POWERS bestowed by HOLY GOD Upon Man are highly capable of ABUSE. Therefore we MUST be FREE from all influences of the intoxicants of the World, Flesh and devil.

(2) BE VIGILANT--Meaning Cautious at all times, Alert, thoroughly awake, to be Watchful, not just mere Wakefulness but rather Watchfulness as well, a Ceaseless vigil, Always on guard, and Always to be on the lookout for SIN’S fascination.

REMEMBER…The Depositing of all CARE upon GOD (I Peter 5:7) does not release one from the necessity of being SOBER and VIGILANT as the devil our ENEMY MUST be vigilantly Watched. He (the devil) is our EVER PRESENT ADVERSARY never to be UNDERESTIMATED. (“No disaster is greater than underestimating the ENEMY.”)

So BEWARE! Be sure to read the devil’s FINE PRINT. Also, before taking his medicine for ‘The Good Life’ be sure to read the SIDE EFFECTS of his remedies. Know he is a LANGUAGE ABUSER, ever attempting to PERVERT the TRUE meaning of WORDS. So…BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT IN 2019!!!

YOU have blessed this Preacher and Revival Ministry by YOUR FAITHFUL SUPPORT in years past. I COUNT ON YOU in 2019 more than ever as we TOGETHER, once again, seek nothing more than our Lord’s Blessed Will for our lives and this Revival Ministry. THANK YOU for YOUR FAITHFULNESS as we labor together for HIS GLORY. I love YOU dearly in our Wonderful Lord Jesus.

Now a closing Word from His Word: "Greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world”--(I John 4:4, KJV).
