Evangelism's Lost Word

Volume 41

September 2018

Number 9

A recent event in the country of Thailand caught the attention of the entire world when twelve young boys and their coach were trapped some two and a half miles deep in the treacherous confines of a flooded Thai cave. For 18 days the world held its breath as help, the world over, came to aid in the Rescue effort. A worldwide PASSIONATE URGENCY seemed to hover over the Thai cave.

The languages of the world were heard in Heaven as prayers were prayed in behalf of this young soccer team and their coach. At no matter the cost, URGENCY pushed the daring Rescue Team on its Mission. Finally, after 18 days, all 12 boys and their coach were RESCUED from their Sure Death Experience and Heaven heard Prayers of Thanksgiving from Earth’s Praying People.

I use the Thai cave experience to call to our attention Evangelism’s LOST Word. The happy ending in Thailand could not have been possible without Evangelism’s Lost Word…that word being PASSIONATE URGENCY

There is a CRISIS in today’s Evangelism. Gone is the URGENCY that MUST be about any display of Biblical Evangelism. Have you noticed that “kinder and gentler evangelism” will NEVER produce URGENCY? It provides only a “get around to it” motivation. Stop and think! There is no “kinder and gentler” HELL. And speaking of HELL, have you noticed that HELL, for the most part, no longer attends our churches?  HELL is not welcome in the Pulpits or the Pews in most Churches in our Nation. HELL is far more APPALLING than APPEALING for most Pulpits and Pews

NEWS FLASH! If your Christianity is to be BIBLICAL, then the doctrine of HELL must be dealt with. The Biblical doctrine of HELL demands EVANGELISM’S LOST WORD: PASSIONATE URGENCY!!!

Thank YOU for your love, prayers and gifts. I love YOU in Jesus. Now a Word from His Word: “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work”--John 9:4 (KJV).
