Yet the Church Sleeps On!

Volume 39

March 2016

Number 3

Prior to his death, Chuck Colson wrote these words: “The FORECAST is FOREBODING: We are living on the edge of a LONG DARK NIGHT. The SUN is SETTING on the American Family Life, Education, Politics. Men and women trade CHARACTER FOR CASH. They sacrifice commitment on the ALTAR OF SELFISHNESS. YET...every four years a PACK of PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES prowls the country, promising whatever their POLLS say listeners want to hear: military might, cuts in defense spending, economic health, lower taxes, compassionate government, strong leadership. No problem is UNSOLVABLE for these MIRACLE WORKERS. All we need to do is elect one of them, A POLITICAL SAVIOR, who will provide a PANACEA for  EVERY NATIONAL ILL.” Colson goes on to say: “Of course, all such EXPECTATIONS end in FAILURE!”

Without a doubt our nation is witnessing a period of cataclysmic changes, as in disastrous, therefore causing great harm. It is a period where spiritual darkness abounds with the blind leading the blind. “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind, and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch” (Matthew 15:14, KJV).

In this APOSTATE AGE, the question of the day is: “Where is THE CHURCH?” Tragic but so, most of the churches in this dark hour have become TOLERANT of SIN even when it is found among her own people. This most surely (bound to happen) warrants (justifies) the JUDGMENT of GOD upon the Church’s INDIFFERENCE TO HIS HOLINESS. Today’s Church seems more willing to IGNORE sin than to DENOUNCE it, and more ready to COMPROMISE GOD’S LAW than to Proclaim it. Without question, it is a mournful fact that many Churches REFUSE TO TAKE SIN SERIOUSLY. Beloved, the Church cannot stand before her ENEMIES while IGNORING SIN in her own ranksYET THE CHURCH SLEEPS ON!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAITHFUL HELP. I love YOU dearly in our Lord Jesus!

Now a word from HIS WORD: “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light” (Romans 13:11-12, KJV).
